Name: Karen C
Job: Production
How long have you been with the company: since October 2011
Tell us a little bit about yourself:
My name is Karen. I have my own little “Superhero”, 7 year old Jacob. I really enjoy scrapbooking, reading, watching movies, swimming, spending time with my son and ELVIS. Though the “King” passed away before I was born, I am one of those people that still carry a torch for the man (my son’s middle name is Presley)!
What is your favorite part of working at PowerCapes?
Everything is my favorite! I love coming to work! The people that we work with are some of the most amazing people that I have worked with! We are able to laugh together and cry together and are not afraid to be ourselves while with each other. I love the fact that schedules are flexable and if our kids are out of school we are able to have them come to the “SuperHero” factory as my son calls it! This is one of the best places to work!
What’s your best PowerCapes Memory?
I will never forget the time that Holly introduced me to our “new” employee on a Monday morning. Little did I know, it was Julie (who has been with us for sometime), she had colored her hair over the weekend and I didn’t recognize her at all! I even went so far as to introduce myself! I felt so silly!

Though I am not an avid cook, I sure do like my Twice Baked Potato!! Here is the recipe…
Ingredients
4 large baking potatoes
8 slices bacon
1 cup sour cream
1/2 cup milk
4 tablespoons butter
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese, divided
8 green onions, sliced, divided
Directions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
Bake potatoes in preheated oven for 1 hour.
Meanwhile, place bacon in a large, deep skillet. Cook over medium high heat until evenly brown. Drain, crumble and set aside.
When potatoes are done allow them to cool for 10 minutes. Slice potatoes in half lengthwise and scoop the flesh into a large bowl; save skins. To the potato flesh add sour cream, milk, butter, salt, pepper, 1/2 cup cheese and 1/2 the green onions. Mix with a hand mixer until well blended and creamy. Spoon the mixture into the potato skins. Top each with remaining cheese, green onions and bacon.
Bake for another 15 minutes.

Who is your favorite Superhero? My true SuperHero was my Grandmother. She lived to be 100 years old and never missed a day without her “sweets”. Her favorite was a Sanunder’s Hot Fudge Cream Puff. As far as a fictional SuperHero I would have to say the Incrediable Hulk! He’s so strong!!!
What is your hidden Superhero talent? My hidden talent would have to be that I am one heck of a singer. Well when no one’s around to hear me, I sound great! I want to keep that one hidden in my back pocket!
What does your PowerCapes cape look like? I don’t have a cape just yet. If I could have a cape made, I would have an gold adult cape with a black lightning bolt and black letters “TCB” over the bolt. It was Elvis’ motto “Taking Care of Business in a Flash”.
